Seniors, do you want to keep anything from your Google account?
     All senior Google accounts (email, Google docs, Goggle sheets, etc.) will be deleted at the end of the school year.  Please review your student account and transfer any electronic documents you would like to keep to your personal computer or storage device.  If you need assistance please see Mrs. McCoy in room 211.

Senior Final Exam Dates Announced -- May 9th & 10th
     Start preparing now for final exams which are scheduled for Monday, May 9th and Tuesday, May 10th.  Seniors may waive a second semester class final if the following criteria are met: 

  • B- or better for the semester in that class 
  • No unexcused absences in that class
  • Five or fewer absences second semester in that class
  • All Tardy (T / T-E / TA-E / TA-U) requirements met in that class. see full policy

Graduation Breakfast / Practice / All School Picture - May 13th
    Join your fellow seniors for breakfast on Friday, May 13th at 8:00 am in the S. Gym.  Graduation practice will begin at 9:00 am.  The all school picture will be taken following graduation practice at 11:00 am.

Pass/Fail Option Agreement
     Any student wishing to take a course Pass/Fail must notify Guidance of his/her intentions before the following deadlines:  Seniors-Wednesday, May 11th before 3:30 pm and Juniors-Friday, May 27th before 3:30 pm.  2016 Pass Fail Option Agreement Form

Young Adult Summer Reading Program - May 31st - July 16th
     The Illinois Prairie District Public Library (IPDPL) is sponsoring a Summer Reading Program for Young Adults (6th grade through age 18).  Register at any of the following District Libraries to participate:  Metamora, Germantown Hills, Spring Bay, Roanoke, Washburn & Benson.  Young Adult Summer Reading Program Flyer

Summer Credit Recovery Program
     If your child failed a required core class (Math, Science, English, Social Studies, or Health) they can attend summer school to make up one class.  The 2016 Summer Credit Recovery Program runs from Friday, May 27 - Friday, June 24, 2016.  The program meets Monday through Friday 8:45 am - 12 pm.  Transportation will be provided with the exception of the first day.  Applications must be turned in before Friday May 20, 2016 at 3:15 pm.  2016 Summer Credit Recovery Application

ACT Registration Deadline Approaching
     As of February 29, 2016, the State of Illinois has yet to pass a budget, so MTHS recommends that all juniors sign up and take the ACT at a national test site.  It is recommended that all students have at least one ACT score that contains writing.  Please go to www.actstudent.org to register.  Cost of the ACT is $39.50 and cost of the ACT with writing is $56.50Deadline for the June 11th ACT test date is Friday, May 6th.  Any questions, please contact Guidance.

     Over 90 competitors from 7 schools participated in the Mid-Illini Competition.  The team placed 2nd!  The following students placed and received points:

Congratulations SkillsUSA for Job Well Done at State Competition!
     Congratulations to the following students who competed at this year's Illinois SkillsUSA competition. This is a statewide competition where the top students compete using skills they've gained through the Career and Technical Education classes offered at MTHS. Thirteen MTHS students qualified in February to compete and 5 placed in the top three in their field:
1st place in Electronics Technology: Andrew Barth
1st place in Photography: Sarah Hodges
2nd place in Graphic Communications: Lauren Pettigrew
3rd place in Photography: Allison Brown
3rd place in Cabinetmaking: Hunter Voss
Our other students also did very well in their competitions:

Congratulations for a job well done to Ashlyn Offenback (Graphic Communications), Grant Hammer (Technical Drafting), Zander Serrine (Technical Drafting), Richie Harris (Cabinetmaking) and Lynette Mientus (Culinary Arts).

Special Kudos to Andrew Barth and Sarah Hodges who will be competing at the Skills USA National competition in Louisville, Kentucky, over the summer.
